Ticking off things.

I think my waiting game will be a lot more peaceful after my Visa is graunted.

The amount of things you  have to take is insane, plus our only appointment venue is in Auck so I have to make a special flight there just for the interview.

Purchased a suitcase yesterday. I am thinking I will only try and half fill it on the way there as I know I will buy things in the US and I dont want to come back heaps over weight

I now have flights/medical insurance/baggage insurance all sorted. So guess thats a weight off.

I have left a month to travel after camp, Im guessing a lot of others would have done the same... But considering I am on the other side of the world I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what is worth seeing in America?

A new experience :D

Hi there Guys,

Im Jo an 18yr old female from Christchurch, New Zealand.

Last year while studying Social Work, I got the sudden urge of wanting to travel.

But I didnt just want to fly to the other side of the world by my lone self and get lost :S

So my application for CA started there  I love children and love getting involved so thought hey why not?

Months of waiting past and I finished my studies and found a job and moved into a flat in town with two friends=life was good

However these recent earthquakes managed to totally destroy our flat and my work crumbled around me on Feb 22nd in the second large earthquake  I am really lucky to be alive. Such a scary sight, people running around bleeding and lifeless bodies left sprrawled out on the pavement. I dont mean to scare just to paint a picture of what life was like for me over the past 6/7months.

Then the E-mail came, I had been placed  and its as though a ray of light entered my life and I have been excited since. Im going to Camp Green Lane, CA. Which is a jewish camp. Im not religious myslef, but don't have a problem with it at all.

So now I am busy sorting out Visa interviews, flights, insurance and other things. I depart NZ on June 16th. So a just a little over two months now

As for now I am off to buy a suitcase. have a great day
