How old to you have to be to rent a car in the US?
Can you also rent with a Full UK driving licence and not have to do any other courses etc?

Apparently to rent a car most places in the US you have to be 25, but some will rent them to you if you over 21.
Its best to have an international drivers licence when driving in the US, but any full drivers liecence from another country will do. (My sister said the cops over there can be real nasty about it tho.)
In NZ to get an international DL you just take a passport photo and your regular licence to the drivers licence people. Dont know how it works in the UK sorry but I am sure it woudlbe pretty easy to find out.
Hope that helps a bit.

A friend of mine went to camp a few years ago and he said that he and a group of people he made friends with all chipped in and bought a car for travelling in while they were at camp (on days off) and for afterwards. Said it was cheap as long as the car didn't break down  They just sold it again before they all flew home. Dont know how easy that would be to do but might be an option if you cant rent one.

Hi Luke,

Those questions have been answered in great detail in some of the other threads so check them out for advice on renting cars and other transport options. You might get more info rather than asking the question again.

Best of luck,

Aby
