Post Re: Still awaiting placement
hi guys, I have been circulating only two week and I must have checked my mail almost gazzillion(I think this reffers to some figure more than million lol) times and I'm so impatient about getting placed. But I do feel that I will get placed if not soon than later.

Good Luck to everybody here who are waiting to be placed!

Haha you guys have had nothing yet! I must of been circulating since October/November time! Seems like years ago since I had my interview, I just don't think about it as much now and try too get it out my head hoping one day out of the blue I'll have an email! Although I have had a job interview to work at the Olympics, desperately hoping I don't have too pick between the two!

Hi everyone.

My application is now officially circulating around the camps.

All I am thinking about at the moment is Camp America. I have so much Uni work to do but I can't bring myself to do because I am constantly on my CA profile haha!

Good luck to everyone for getting placed :-D

Sarah, you basically took the words out of my mouth. I am currently at a computer in my university library with my assignments open in finder, ready to be done (NEEDING to be done)... AND I'M HERE!! WHERE I HAVE BEEN FOR THE PAST MONTH! ON A CAMP AMERICA PAGE. Waiting, wishing, hoping that today will be the day I get an email.

Sad but true. Ugh.

Post Re: Still awaiting placement
Sara,

I applied a month ago, got my application together really quick and managed to be up and circulating in two weeks. My interviewer happened to go to the same college as as me and my police check took about a week when I told them a job was possibly on the line, so I was quite lucky in that sense.

My heart goes out to those who've been circulating longer than me. I'm only up 2 weeks and its all I think about. Its so random how its done, people waiting since before Christmas to be placed but then others getting snapped up straight away. I'm always wondering how it works behind scenes, in terms of hiring people. I imagine now that its getting closer to summer and the number of kids going to camp are being finalised they have a better idea of how many employees they'll need to hire. I'm applying to be a general counsellor and I'd be happy anywhere!! I'm Irish though and hardly any Irish people do it so I have very few people to ask about it!

What's your story? Are you a newbie or returner? :D

Holly,

I wanted to apply last year, but couldn't get an interviewer in time because I applied late (again haha), but I didn't even think about it that much... I just applied and then thought about it after, sooooo glad I did now though, it's very exciting. I have only been circulating a week if that and I cannot seem to get anything done haha, it's really annoying... I look at my phone when I first wake up in the morning and I see that I have like 6 e-mails so i'm thinking 'could it be?' and it wasn't haha. I am trying to be patient, but I just wanna know now so I can start planning properly :-).

Oh cool your Irish? I'm Welsh... Haha... Might be a bit difficult for the American children to understand us haha! I'm sure they'll get used to it though... Yeah I have applied to preferably work in a special needs camp or in a under privileged camp. But I am happy with absolutely anything. Are you a newbie or a newcomer?

P.S. Hope you get placed very soon to put your mind at rest :-).

Sara :-D x

Oh, I'm a newbie! I've known about it for a couple of years but this was the first year I actually did something about applying. It's actually gotten to the point where when I check my emails (once a day now) I pretend I don't really care, phffft, I can wait a bit longer to be placed, but then when my inbox opens up and there be nothing I'm like noooooooo!! Camp America, let me love you already!!! Ugh. It's really getting ridiculous.

Best of luck, Sara, please post here if - no, WHEN!- you hear something. I will too.

All the best,

Hol :D

I have been waiting since about Christmas time! I have had one interview over the phone but they decided to choose someone who had already worked there the year before. I really really want to go!! Does anyone know if we get our money back if we don't get placed? I know its still early days but it is soo annoying waiting!!
