My application has been circulating since the middle of February and I'm really worried I won't gte placed - my main skills are listed as girl guide experience and music....all of the camps seem to want sports!!

I really want to go - I've had experience in a school being a teaching assistant and I've worked with my local guide unit.

Is there any hope??

I don't think you need to worry too much Rachael. My application has been circulating around camps since mid february too and i'm still waiting. I dont really have a lot of recent sporting experience too so fingers crossed, we'll be placed soon!! There is still hope because people are getting placed everyday!!!

I'm in the same boat, i have experience in girl guiding and drama although i really want to be a general counsellor. My application has been circulating since end of Jan so don't worry. My interviewer said it tend to take about 10 weeks to get placed but its different for everyone.

I am really worried I won't get placed also... I have applied rather late (like 2 weeks ago).. Everything is sorted now though and I am now officially 'ready to be placed'...
I do have experience with special needs so hopefully that will go in my favour??

Hey guys, I'm the same. I applied 1st August last year wanting to get everything done early. I had my interview in November and I was circulating in January. I got an email off a camp about 2 months ago saying they wanted to Skype, but I emailed her back and heard nothing until today when she said that they'd filled all their places. Starting to feel now like I'm not gonna get placed and it's driving me crazzzzzy! Have you guys been emailing camps? I was going to today but I don't know where to start! xxx

Im in the same position too! its horrible waiting around and not knowing whats going on .. im just glad im not the only one in this position haha, ive got lifeguarding and drama as my specialist skills!!

I've heard so many different things about emailing camps and not emailing them, im just confussed and stuck on what to do.. have you guys emailed camps??

hi! i started circulating at the end of february/start of march and i got offered ready steady go on tuesday...my main skills are special needs and theatre arts and bible study but im sort of not expecting to get a place as a drama teacher because its so in demand apparently! i emailed a couple of camps a few weeks ago just saying hello, saying a bit about my childcare experience and main skills but only one has got back to me saying they'd hired all their international staff :/ im not sure whether to email any more camps but quite a few people seem to have been placed that way? hope we all get placed soon

Nice to hear that there are some others like me who are not placed yet.
My application is ready to be placed since middle of january i think. But my problem is that i have to leave at the latest , so on the 25th of June.
do you think I will get a placement? I really love to go and it drives me crazy not to know if I could go or not.

Hey Rebecca, I cant leave until pretty late too (16th Juneish) and I know a lot of camps wanted me to start at the start of June which I couldn't do but I do know there are quite a few too who don't want you to start until later on, I'd say have a look on some camp websites and have a look for the later ones, just don't worry too much xx

Ive been circulating since around mid march and im still waiting, i havent really waited that long but i just dont know like people said they are mostly looking for sports, my main skills are Fitness and Aerobics and both Acosutic and Electric guitar. I hope the day comes soon i really do! Peace xx
