Hey Harrison,

You are going to love it at Northwood. It is the best place (in my opinion) to spend your summer working. Its hard work but loads of fun at the same time.

I'm Jay, this will be my fourth year back to Camp Northwood.

If you have any questions, give me a shout on here. There should be a facebook group up soon for all the staff going to camp this year. I'll put it up when i find out. :D xoxo

Hey,

Nice to see that the page is growing. Now i have done the visa appointment a few times and i still get anxious about it.

The best advice i can give about filling out your forms is to do it really slow and tripple check that you have answered every question on the form that you have to fill out on-line. Make sure that you have all the items in order in the pack, and take extra passport photos with you just incase.

Also make sure you do not cut your hands, as they need to take your finger prints for your entry into the states. If they have cuts on them you may be refused.

All that happens is that you get given a number on entry and wait for it to be called, hand over some of your forms, get your fingerprints taken, and then you get given another number. When this number is called you will be speaking to an american and this will be your visa interview, where they will ask questions like what are you doing, where is it etc... They will tell you if your visa has been approved or not. Once this is done, you hand your form into the couriers desk and you can leave.

Make sure you get there on time and becasue it is a day dedicated to these types of visas, you should be in and out fairly quickly; if there are no problems. The last time i did it i was in and out within half an hour.

Harrison i am going there in on the 27th to get mine, im having to take half a day off from work to do it, lol.

If anyone has any questions about any other processes or what camp life is like i.e. what you should/shouldn't bring, how it works and any other questions you have, just ask on here or add me on facebook - Jay Tomlinson

Jay xoxo

Ps i always end converstaions with xoxo. lol

Not long now. I have eleven weeks til i fly out. I am flying out on the 21st which is a day before a lot of you leave. As your flying on the 22nd which is the friday.

How is everyone getting on with their visa's are they all sorted and in shape.

Just a few things on stuff you should bring. Fun stuff, if you have fancy dress costumes they are great as there is a lot of dress up for evening activities like the themed dances. Bring stuff from home like flags, photos as the kids love it. Make sure you bring enough swimming costumes. Swimming is everyday and you dont want to be in a wet suit (lol). I bring about 10 normally but that is because i am at the waterfront near enough all day being a lifeguard or teaching swimming. Bring a coat/rain jacket, because when it rains, it pours.

I will keep putting stuff up when i remember it and you should know it before you get to camp

Jay xoxo
