I have just been placed at Arc of Westchester - Camp Echo, a special needs camp in New York. Really excited to go, think I am leaving on the 17th June. If anyone else is going - please get in touch via the thread made

Hi I'm Stefan and I'm 20.

2nd year at Peconic Dunes Camp on the sunny and beautiful North Fork of Long Island, New York. I was a music counsellor last year and am applying for a senior position this year (either as a co-ordinator or a unit leader).

To all of you worried about getting placed, don't be. I got my application in, in like Feb last year. Got placed by emailing camps just before the trade fair, as I couldn't get down to London. Some camps don't like it, but some view it as pro-active.

At the trade fair, I'd get there as early as possible and be as enthusiastic as possible when chatting to the camp director.

I am currently going to Huddersfield Uni in my first year studying Broadcast Journalism. I applied for camp america last year and had to cancel it due to my last exam being 2 days after the closing date

But after the recruitment fair I got given a place in Camp Wise. Is anyone going?

I startet circulating about 2 weeks ago and it seems like it has been forever! and it's just so hard to wait!

After camp i would like to travel around in the USA and hopefully travel with someone from my camp but ofcourse it would be nice to meet people from other camps on the way or maybe joining us!

I'm Conor from Belfast in Northern Ireland.
I'm a youth worker, I left my full time youth work job last year to try something new and am I glad as Camp America is my next venture lol.
Currently im working im my local youth centre which I love.
This is my first year also going to Camp America, i had talked and thought about it for so long and within a day of circulating I was placed at Camp Allen in New Hampshire which is a Specialist camp.
The excitement is killing me lol, cant wait to travel after also!
