... to load money onto travel cards or change money in dollars?

So when do you guys reckon will be the best time to change our money into dollars?

Will the exchange rates stay constant to now over the next month or will they change drastically.

At the moment Caxton is 1.63

What do you think?

Will keep you posted with the exchange rate............ as often as I can.

I'd consider doing it atm.... as it is quite high, though it's always going to be a gamble... this is why people can make money off converting money, its a game of chance

do you reckon its high due to the wedding?

i know in the last few weeks its been fluctuating between 1.55 and 1.61.

Glad i'm not going to Europe this year.

I know world events affect currency conversion.
i've changed majority of my money now. only wish it was like 2007 when it was 2dollars to the pound.

Agreed - in '08 it was about 2 to the pound too - was great for changing money.

Although, now I guess the money we earn in the US is worth more pounds...

I think I'm gonna exchange some during the next week. You think it will stick around that mark for at least the next 7 days or so?
You're all right tho, its one big lottery...Only slightly better odds than the national one! I'd hope so too -D

It may change come tomorrow morning but I doubt it will change that much.
I check Caxton to see what it is. But i've changed majority of my money now so trying not to look at it incase it goes up - lol.
just got to change roughly £200 into $ - into cash about a week before I go and thats it.

Fingers crossed it goes up a bit :)

According to Google, today's exchange rate is 1.66. So unless that drops a bit, Caxton will probably stay at 1.63.

Quick question: can you buy things online with a Caxton card? Just like a normal debit card?

yeah you can. I pay for deposits over in the states for accommodation and also internal flights etc. Its just a normal credit card but a pre paid one.

Yeah business rates are always higher than what the tourist rate is :)

Now Caxton are saying 1.617. So its dropped like a cent.

I'm going to do it with Thomas Cook! The currency change rate stays the same from when you make the account so I am going to be setting one up pretty soon! :)
