Post Flying Home???
How is everyone deciding what date to fly home on???

I think I am flying into LA, then catching an American Airlines flight to Chicago.. I want to depart from LA, but am not sure what date to book as I do not want to pay huge fees if I change dates...

Does anyone know if I have to book a return flight???

Your best option would be to use the DIY option, it's only I think £75 or something, and you can book any date you want to (the middle/end of august and beginning of sept always appear to be harder to fly home cause of people who finish camp august start and people coming home from vacation) as long as you average your money out, and have a little bit to fall back on just incase you are unlucky in getting a flight for the exact date you want and have to travel a few days after. With DIY then at least you can decide if you wanna travel with people you meet at camp or not aswell and not make concrete plans.

As Elisabeth (really strange spelling your own name differently!) said there is a DiY option meaning you have a lot of flexibility about the date you fly home. However the £75 charge only allows you to fly from NYC, the cost of chosing to fly home from LA was £200 last year as that's what I decided to do x

The diy flights are only good to get you too Heathrow, i had to book a connecting flight from Heathrow to Glasgow myself last year. So yo would need to book(and pay for) your own flights to NZ for the world cup.

Like jc said, you'd have to pay for your own flights to NZ..but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to fly to the UK from NZ cause you'll have a return from the US and you have to leave from there and they'd also be weary of you leaving the country (like they are when going to Canada and Mexico) and not knowing if you'd return or not. I hope that makes some sense haha.

Elizabeth, I know..it's weird, my dads German and it's apparently the german way of spelling it, but I like it.

Daniel, I'd say email CA about arranging your own flights and then look in to getting a round-the-world ticket, so as long as you start and end in the uk it won't matter where you go. A couple of girls from camp this year used camp as the start of a year long trip but as they were returners they were easily able to sort their own flights...
