Camp America participants will automatically gain access to the forum when they reach the Ready To Place status. Until then, the forum and its contents are read only. When an applicant reaches the RTP stage, accessing the Participant Zone will automatically create a forum login and users can begin posting and replying to forum content.

haha, does any1 know if we need like boots? u know like hiking boots? like builders doc martin type things, coz i dnt have any but would neva wear them otherwise so i wud only get them if i got placed.?

Don't bother. Unless you're going to hiking up mountains etc it's not really worth it. I didn't take mine to camp last and was fine. Just make sure you've got some good, sturdy trainers :) If you decide you really need them, I'm sure you can get some out there.

haha yer, im taking a holdal on wheels, not guna be majorly big cz the only things im takin r like pants, socks, t's and boardies so, they dnt take an awful lota room. dno wot im doin bout my sleepin bg think i mite try and squeese it in too!

ive neva had a rucksack so my information is limited and my advice wouldnt be much help soz. lol. but apparently u can get um fitted to ur particular body shaoe which sounds cool. go to millets or something. they r always quite cheap for camping stuff!

Some questions about rucksacks:

Do they go in the cargo hold of the plane?

How do you intend to lock or secure them!?

um, they will go in the bottom of the plane yer wid all the suitcases and that. they wud b too big and too heavy to count as hand luggage. just put a padlock on it? but dont loose the keys lol!

Yes, of course they go in the cargo hold. Doesn't all check luggage go there?

I'm just doing mine up normally.

Don't do this - it's pointless security people might want to check the bag, and then they'd break the locks. You can get some TSA approved ones - or other people have talked about just using cable ties etc. Or some people have a raincover/bag that the backpack will go inside for flights etc.
