So after weeks of waiting my application and forms finally seemed to be processed and my application got updated to rtbp status and told me it was circulating.

Well I got happy too soon, woke up to an e-mail saying there was a problem with my police check. Its a Northern ireland one which doesnt go through CA payments, even tho i paid my 36 pounds 3 weeks ago for it. I now have to wait to be refunded that and send them a cheque for another 30.

I'm gonna have to wait for my police check to clear which will take weeks right?
I don't think my chances are great for being placed now, even tho i applied in december, anyone agree?

anyone have any advice or similar experiences where they still got to go?

Can't comment on the Police Check thing, as in how long it takes, but that is annoying.

I won't worry about getting placed though. Honestly, there's loads of time yet. CA don't even close applications until April/May so if you can do you initial application then and get placed then you've got plenty of chance.

it's just so annoying cause i asked so many questions about this before my interview to make sure they knew what was happening with the northern ireland one. Then was told by my interviewer u dont need to fill in the details its all done through CA. Now exactly a month later and im back at the beginning

Yeah, that is frustrating. You'd think they'd be a bit more clued up. Was your interviewer in Northern Ireland?

Ah, did you post about this before? As in you didn't know if you needed a UK one or an NI one? If it wasn't you then someone else was in the same situation, but that was ages ago so I forget who.

Try not to worry too much. If the camp are interested they'll email you back to say they can/can't see you app and you can always explain then.

Oh hun! :(

Let it out on here, then try to forget about it. I'm sure your not a master criminal so it will come back fine and you'll be able to email more camps. You never know, cos NI must get a lot fewer to fill out than the various UK forces they may be a lot quicker.

hi michelle. i was in a pretty similar situation last year but i think my CRB got lost in the post or it got lost at the CA office because it still said on my CA direct page that it hadn't been received but i was on ready to be placed status, which you are only supposed to be granted after the CRB has cleared i think. i got in touch with CA and my interviewer and they sorted out what i needed to do whilst my application was still being circulated, i think i ended up getting placed whilst this carry on with the CRB check was still going on so in the end it didn't hinder my placement chances. does it still say on your CA direct page that your application is being circulated?

i'm sure you will be fine, especially with your previous CRB record with work, just check with CA to make sure.

don't worry about getting placed, i'm sure you will be fine. i got placed at the end of march last year and didn't have anything like your experience of working in schools. good luck!
