omg the best thing, thats such a hard question to answer. I loved every single bit of it
I would probably say all the people you meet, I've definitely made some friends for life ... oh and the 2 water parks are great as well. You got the outside one which has one slide that you go down in tubes (either one your own or with someone else) as well as a hot tub and a pool and then you got the inside one which is amazing, lol. It will only have been open for a year in the summer and basically it is a body slide, a toilet bowl slide which you go one with someone else, another slide for either one of two people and the four person slide which the kids absolutely love but it's hard work carrying the tube up all the stairs. There's also a hot tub and a wave pool.

On one of my time offs I went to one of the american staff's houses and the other two I stayed in camp and either hung around there relaxing or borrowed of the american's cars and went to the beach and shopping.

If you go on this website http://www.doublejj.com/ it shows where the camp is set. I'm guessing you don't know that it's one a holiday resort where familys can go and stay. You don't have much contact with the public unless your at one of the waterparks as the camp has it's only pool for general use

Here's some photos to see what it's like, sorry there's quite a few but believe me I have a lot more. If you wanna see more let me know.

Lake where you can water ski, wake board, go tubbing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, trampolining, go on a pedalo and fishing (and probably other things but I can't think of them right now)

if your gonna be a lifeguard i guess you might need slightly different clothes to what I took as I was a general councellor so did all the activities but basically i went to places like matalan and primark and brought their cheap t-shirts. I also took a few pairs of cropped trousers, a pair of jeans, some shorts, jogging bottoms, a couple of hoddies and then different types of shoes (so trainers, flip flops, etc.) You'll need either a blue or white top for the friday even meal as it's a jewish camp and they have their shabbat meal (which is the best meal of the week) Oh and of course I took some nicer clothes for time off but not many as I brought some when I was out there and went shopping.

I basically followed the list your get given, you can't go wrong if you do that.

There are washing machines so you can quite easily wash your clothes but I wouldn't take anything you really like incase one of the machines ruin it

hope that helps

oh and meant to put this photo on before but forgot
this is the pool so this is probably where you'll spend more of your Ashleigh ... unless your a lifeguard on the lake
This is the deep end of the pool (after all the staff of white pine village jumped in together)

Well yeah. My parents came out after I finished and I met them in New York and we were there for a week before going to Boston for a few days then they flew home and I flew back to Michigan and went on a roadtrip with some people from camp to Colorado and back, stayed at a friends house for a few days before flying home

In a way I wish my parents had come out though and I could have travelled longer with friends or done a trek america tour but it was great anyway. I would def recommend travelling after camp

That's what I was like, I didn't come back until I really had to. I didn't know where to go and moaned at one of the American's I was working with so he suggested we did a roadtrip and it ended up being to colorado as one of our supervisors was moving there so we went to keep her company. I'd say wait until you get there to decide where to go coz you'll probably find others want to travel too then you can go together. Internal flights and buses are cheap enough to wait to do til you get there and you have access to a computer with internet to book it all then.

yeah they did have a rule of 15 minutes per day and you had to sign in and out but it generally didn't work that way. I found that if it was free when you got there then you could use it for as long as you like ... unless there was a queue then the 15 minute rule did stick but you learnt when the busy times were and didn't go then

ahhh wooden acres, seems like yesterday, oops sorry ppl flashback, ok My name is David Orrells Aka Danger Dave The Sprinkler. i went to wooden acres last year and let me start by sayin YOUR GONNNA LOVE IT!!!!,

I was a general counselour for the lakeside boys the greartest group of boys ever (please note they were the 'group masterbaters' ,apparently, dont worry they will train u on that situation) anyway be careful of them they are a rowdy bunch, wooden acres is an awesome camp tho, the indoor water park is amazing, ur gona love it, just dont get caught messing around.

If theres any question u wana ask go for it,

Oh one more thing mainly just for the guys, American chicks love our accent so enjoy!!

we all wish it was only yesterday Dave but alas it was not, lol ... never really understood the whole strinkler thing but whatever

I gotta say I think the lakeside boys were the loudest group there ... and always seemed to me messing around at meal time when I walked past them, hehe

yeah forgot to meantion before ... as Dave just said don't get caught messing around, at one point I think 7 people were fired in one go for getting caught but don't get scared by that, play by the rules when being watched and you'll be fine.

You going back this year Dave?
