Hey Guys!!! :(

Unfortunately my visa is denied. I need help!!!! spoke with CA staff , they informed to re-apply, i am not sure what went wrong.

I was not even told to submit any documents as proof of return , i told them i am working currently and would return back and resume my work but they were not satisfied hence they refused my visa, now i am in tremendous jeopardy sincei have to start all the visa application proceess again and that might delay my camp since my camp start date is 29th MAY.

i wanna go to the camp damit, i 've worked so hard to get everything right, all the money spent, time and the hardwork put to get a placement. i don't wanna give it up this easily.i ain't coward, i am gonna re-apply...

Has n e 1 got his refused any time?

n e advice/suggestions would be appreciated...

Did they give you reasons as to why you were denied?
I'm worried caus my J day is just 2 weeks before I leave so I guess if I'm refused then I'm stuffed!

Sorry to hear about your visa troubles. Unfortunately I doubt many of us on here would have advice as the US Embassy decision-making process is quite a mystery, and they obviously have their reasons. Also, as they're a government agency, it's unlikely that you can do anything to 'change their mind' unless you can improve on something you might have done wrong in your first application. What reason did they give? That you didn't have anything to return to your home country for? What is your home country and where was your passport issued?

You say you were not even told to submit any documentation......I think perhaps you were informed of the need to submit documents, but with all the paper work you have had to read through, you might have missed this! I sometimes find that when people come for interviews with me they don't read the information properly, so they don't bring the correct ID and so on to interview.

It could well be that you were denied a visa because of your lack of documentation! It's a bit like going abroad - no way would you be allowed on a plane without a passport, however much you beg and plead and show them alternative ID!

Most British citizens would be granted a visa, as would citizens of any European Union country, Australia or New Zealand. If you are not a British citizen, but have a visa for Britain which lasts for more than 6 months after your proposed return from the USA. you might be granted a visa, but this would be at the discretion of the American Embassy.

yes, probably u'll are right.

by the way i m from INDIA. My passport was issued here in INDIA.

I was told that your intentions of going to the U.S does not comply with our U.S Immigration and Nationality Act, and it seems that u are somehow trying to find a way to come to the U.S, hence u r visa is refused under 214(b).

I had all the letters of proof of return which are as follows:

1) Offer Letter(Unconditional) from University stating course start date and fees.- I'll be a full time student @ University Of Manchester(UK) for an undergraduate course in Biotechnology this September 2008.
2) Bank Statement
3) Property/Residence papers

i was suprised as no documents were asked to produce it was just verbal conversation of 4 questions and before i could show some docs i was told that my visa was refused..

i need help guys, what should i do this time, m gonna re-apply neways, so i need some advice and suggestions as wht should i do during my new interview....

don't u think it's a kind of racial discrimination, i mean people from UK and european countries are issued visas on the spot while here it's so srutinized, it's total prejudice...i don't really understand the U.S visa policy,c'mon v r going there only for 4 months for work as matter of fact v are even sponsored by U.S goverment agency(AIFS).

please reply.....

When i have been for my visa when i've handed my application form over, i've always handed them all the documentation (letter for uni, bank astatement etc) with the application at the same time so they have it there in their hands.

I dont know how the embassy is in India but in the uk you get called up the first time to hand in all your papers. then they call you up again a little while later to have the 'interview'. So in between you going up for the first and second time they look through everything, so by them having the documentation for your uni place etc when you hand it in in the first place they can see it all.

From what you've said i think i understand that you didnt give them your uni letter etc because they didnt ask. So when you re apply, make sure you give it to them even if they dont specifically ask for it. I'm not the embassy, but i dotn see why you shoudl be refused if you have proof of a place at university, its a pretty good reason to leave America after the summer!

Hope that makes sense and gd luck with re-applying.

i really doubt its racial discrimination! america is a multi-cultural country, and a government building would no way make any racial judgements! u say every1 in uk gets placed, but im sure there are some who have been refused as well.

Hey Guys!!!!!

Thank you for your kind gesture and for giving your suggestions, it's indeed really helpful. I really appreciate that.

as for now, i am pretty sure that i am gonna re-apply, i spoke again with CA staff and they have reprinted by DS 2019 form and it's on it's way to india so probably i 'll be taking my visa appointment after receiving my new DS2019 form which will be probably by MAy 10.

U r right Victoria, unlike UK, here the US embassy does not ask to submit documents, it's only at the interview time that you have to show the supporting documents. The system in UK seems very well organized, while here in india it's different.

n e ways i just hope i get it this time , let's hope for the best.

Once again thank you all , u'll been very helpful...

All d best for the US trip!!! :)

God Bless!!

Just make sure you hand them all the documentaion you have about uni when you hadn them your ds 156, 157 and 158 etc. THen they will probably look at it as they go through the forms. Even fi they dont ask for it make sure you give it to them.

ppl here in germany were denied a visa coz of their names - they sounded too much like the name of a famous terrorist (btw those ppl were originally naticve germans...) ... so u see, they sometimes have curious reasons to refuse visas...
good luck for the next time! let us know about the result!
