is anybody thinkin about going to TJ after camp? ive never been before but ive been told it can be a little bit dodgey but an awsome place to party, has anybody had any experiance with it?

it borders with california and is quite close to san diego, ive looked into hostel prices and food/drink prices and its really cheap! i think it'll be worth goin if theres a group for saftey

i'm placed at camp matapoini, maine its abit far from california but i;m definatly going to go 2 california, but i'd like to organise a group of us to go to tijuana for a couple of days to party! (this place had my vote when i heard you can get beer for like $2 or less)

Yeah i am up for heading there looks like a good place to party , had a look at a few hostels like $25 a night and you can drink there if you under 21

i was in san diego last year but backed out of goin cuz i didnt have the signed visa papers, but i'm goin this year

there aint really any hostels in tijuana itself, u have to stay in san diego, but the hostel i stayed at last year was really really cool so me and my friend will be able to find some people to drag with us

I was there two summers ago, so if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

I went with 4 other girls - no safety issues, because we were aware of the dangers and were just as careful as we would normally be in any part of the world.

We stayed there for about 6 nights, but went down Baja California to stay in Rosarito and Ensenada too.

Things are cheap once you get there! Oh and we stayed in a hostel off the main street, which was cheap and surprisingly decent. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I can find out if anyone's interested..

We were staying in San Diego after and decided to spend another friday night down in TJ - ended up taking the train back to SD at 6am and sleeping outside a supermarket waiting for it to open because we were starving and also homeless, lol. Were so thirsty we drank from a hose at the petrol station! Dressed up in heels too and looking very bedraggled by this stage. Ahh memories...

that sounds ace, wot wer the people like in tj? was it like mostly californian kids partying for the weekend?

yeh i've been before, dirt cheap place to party!!! u have to watch out for the little kids tho that beg / pick pocket you!

Yeh im defo interested in this, i want to go san diego definately so would be good to go TJ too!! Is there any nice beaches in TJ? would be good to stay in a hostel in san diego, but then go TJ for the day and into the night, then return to san diego to sleep!! Anyone know if transport is ok from TJ back to san diego at the wee hours of the morning though??

it doesnt cost anything

u send off your visa forms to the camp america office in america about a week after u arrived at camp, they sign it, then post it back to you. then u can go america.
