I know a couple mentioned above but what are people's general experience about the price of flights?

I would imagine the longer flights tend to get more expensive the longer you leave it. I know that last year I ended up paying a lot more for a flight from Vegas to Niagara cos I only booked it about 2 weeks before. Just because i am thinking of doing a multi destination flight like NY to San fran to Hawaii To NY or something and I reckon that a flight like that will not get cheaper nearer the time!! Cetrainly my persoinal experience says they will get more expensive if anything although some of you mention some getting cheaper, but perhaps it is only really the smaller flights that can get a bit cheaper??

ok cool. As long as we're not like stuck in the middle of no where!!

If your is in the middle of nowhere - and even if it is in walking distance from somewhere the camp will not expect you totally make your way from camp. In all likelyhood the camp, or perhaps friends you have made at camp will drop you off at the nearest greyhound stop, train station or airport - depending on how you will be traveling.

Yep that's usually what they do. Mine drops us off at the nearest Amtrak rail station/main city.

I know my last camp used drop u off at either the amtrak station, the nearest greyhound stop, the airport or the nearest city.

This summer I dont have to worry about it cos I will be going to the same camp as a friend from the USA so whe will drop me where ever I need to be dropped off - when I finally come home.

Try looking at www.orbitz.com It is an american site so the flights are alot cheaper than booking thorugh uk sites, and it gives you the prices of all the major airlines. Its also really easy to use and reliable

Anna,

U said last yr u flew from utah to new hampshire. did u fly home from new hampshire?

My camp is in utah this summer. don't know what im doing after yet, but i'm guessin i'll have to take an internal flight from utah to another state, then from there to new york? And CA don't pay for any of this? that sucks a bit!

I was spending a few days with a friend in NH before I flew home from NYC. I flight I took was Salt Lake City - Cincinati - Manchester NH (or at least it should have been but delays meant we missed out connection and ended up going through atlanta aswell.

I am sure that you can get flights to some where closer to NYC.

i flew coast to coast, but instead of flyin from like a major airport, i went from like san jose to the smaller washington airport, and i swear it was like less than $150, considering it was like a 6 hour flight, its pretty cheap

i checked out flights to hawaii before and they're so expensive, i was well shocked!. hawaii to new york will literally cost u a bomb

You should try Expedia.com for airline prices. I priced from Pennsylvania to California one way and it was only like $100, in our money that would be about £50. Which is very good. But if you are only going from one state to the next a coach or train mite be much much cheaper.

In your CAD page in the Retrun Flights options you have a choice of return ticket options - however the free flights are from NYC but if you take one of the other options you can fly from other places.
