Camp America participants will automatically gain access to the forum when they reach the Ready To Place status. Until then, the forum and its contents are read only. When an applicant reaches the RTP stage, accessing the Participant Zone will automatically create a forum login and users can begin posting and replying to forum content.

Post How long did it take for you to get hired?
Hey guys :D

This will be my first time going to camp, I said I would do it last year but changed my mind last minute. After meany friends of mine going this year and telling me I should have done it this year! I decided to apply ASAP!

I'm so excited, I can't wait to hear back from a camp! How long did it take others to hear back?

hey charlotte :D last time i applied i got placed within 2 months as i dont think they start looking until end of november early december time so im afraid its a waiting game really. im gonna go to one of the recruitment fairs in january if im not placed by then and see if i can secure a place that way (hopefully)

That's cool, I've decided if u haven't heard by the end of January I'm gonna go to the recruitment fair :) they said at my interview they don't start hiring until now. My friend got placed in January last year, I just can't wait! I'm always checking my emails. Just in case!

Getting stupidly impatient now :D just sent a fresh batch of emails to some camps hopefully I get some positive feedback :)

You sent emails to camps? Are you applying through CA? Because I thought we just had to wait! Is there a way or hurrying an application?

Yeah I've sent a few emails to camps that use CA and yeah it's all through CA I let them know my membership number and leave it down to them... Although some camps don't like being pestered with emails the worst thing they can do is say no.

I think it's worth a try and I know CA don't really advise it but I know other people have been successful with it

i would try leaving emailing camps until end of jan coz they will be gettin annoyed probs coz they all hiring ha but just best to wait it out and go to one of the recruitment fairs in jan if ya aint placed that what im doing

Ah cool, I'm getting impatient but gonna wait and if I'm not placed by the end of Jan I'm gonna go to the recruitment fair :) but emailing isn't a bad idea! But hopefully we will all be placed soon!

Not going to have the chance to go to the recruitment fairs unfortunately.. I leave for Australia for 3/4 months in a couple of weeks lol so just trying every option available now :D
