I think Paddington is closest to the US embassy - but you go into any station and then just get the tube to Marble Arch or Bond Street.

Do you actually have a choice? From where I live you can only go to London Euston - which was pretty easy, not far on the tube, and only 1 change.

Don't know if this helps, but as far as the London Tube goes, Bond Street on the 'central line' is the closest tube stop to the embassy.

That's what I was thinking too - generally your train line will only go to one London station, sometime you can change to get to another - when I'm at home I can change at Clapham or Vauxhall to go to Victoria (I think) instead of Waterloo - but there's not much point.

It's easiest to go straight into London to whichever station and then tube it :)

Nearest tube is Marble Arch, come out of the tube station and turn left down oxford street, past primark. Follow the tourist signs for Grosvenor Square.

Marble Arch Tube to Embassy - 0.38 miles
Bond Street Tube to Embassy - 0.30 miles

Bond Street is closer, not to mention the roads you have to cross are much quieter so takes even less time getting to the embassy.

And yet who cares about 0.08 miles. I went to Marble Arch, but went down Park Lane. Only one road to cross that had cars on it at all, the others were just side junctions. It was so easy!!

Yea, Bond St is closer on car but if you walk down Park lane from Marble Arch you walk down quiet streets and more importantly end up on the right side of Grosvenor Sq
