CAMP AMERICA REGIONAL INTERVIEWER

Already had an amazing experience at camp in the USA? How would you like to keep your summer memories alive year round? Pass on your experiences and help someone else have the summer of a lifetime by becoming a Regional Interviewer!

The Camp America International Interviewer network is made up of over 400 Camp/Resort America enthusiasts, working in countries throughout the world from Australia to Brazil and the UK to the Ukraine. We are actively seeking to recruit new interviewers who have had at least two summers at a camp or resort in the USA (or proven relevant work experience) to help us send more excited young people to the States!

We are seeking candidates with both strong written and spoken communication skills in English and who are able to cope with the complicated procedures involved. The 2006 season of Camp America saw the worldwide launch of our Camp America Online Applications system (COLA) and therefore we require our interviewers to have regular internet access, and be comfortable learning an online applications system. You must have a keen interest in other people and you must be able to see the applicants' strengths. You will become the face of Camp America in your region so it goes without saying that you must of course have a positive attitude toward the Camp America programme! Based on your own camp experiences you will be asked to share your stories and to encourage potential applicants to recognise the skills they have and to help them make the most of their application whilst still maintaining the standards set by the company.

You will be required to pre-screen potential applicants and conduct a 45-60 minute interview according to the Camp America programme requirements outlined in your training. Interviewers are then asked to complete a thorough report on the applicant, which will be submitted to your local office and used by our US staff to find a suitable placement. You will be responsible for ensuring that all required paperwork is completed to deadline and remain the point of contact for the applicant throughout the Camp America application process.

In return you'll have the chance to keep involved with Camp America and earn interviewer commission. The skills that you will learn and develop as an interviewer are transferable skills that can be added to your C.V. Furthermore, interviewing is a part-time responsibility and you can fit the interviews around your existing work or college commitments.

You will be expected to participate fully in the thorough training that will be conducted and prospective interviewers are asked to provide one written reference from their last Camp/Resort Director as well as an additional character reference. If your application is successful we will also require you to submit a police check. We will provide you with full training and support both when you are starting out as a trainee interviewer, and throughout your career with us - however long that may be! Commitment to the Interviewer position is a minimum of one year however we currently have interviewers who have been with us for over 30 years and still can't get enough of spreading the word about this great experience!

Throughout the season we will also ask for your participation at various Camp America events, by either helping to promote the programme at presentations, working at interview days and open recruitment events or helping out at our annual Camp Directors fairs. Here at Camp America we also enjoy combining catching up with getting together with other members of the team to discuss ways in which we can improve our service. Rest assured, these will become a regular addition to your social calendar throughout the year!

So, if you're available between September and June for a few hours a week and want to encourage others to benefit from this great programme then what are you waiting for!

For more information or if you have any questions regarding the positions available at Camp America, please do not hesitate to contact your local office at any time.
